“I like seeing the changes in the patients. They get so proud of themselves. The happens so quickly here”
Sitting down to talk with Dr. Anton can be a life-changing event, particularly if you have, or are at risk of developing type II diabetes. “One of my passions has always been to have an opportunity to create a relationship with a patient …that environment is really nice here at Pritikin,” says Dr. Anton. Relationships are not something that is easy to achieve in traditional outpatient settings, explaining why Dr. Anton is so passionate about the success her patients’ experience in the Pritikin environment. There’s much more time spent with patients here, plus extensive collaboration amongst the medical experts allowing patients to gain a full understand of their health conditions. She describes how her patients become empowered to make sustainable lifestyle changes when they are able to identify what barriers in their life are preventing them from treating their condition: “It gives them a powerful role in their health… they get so proud of themselves. It happens so quickly here.” Dr. Anton is a board-certified Endocrinologist who completed her medical training in New York, and spent many years working at an inpatient/outpatient clinic, before becoming a whole-hearted fan and member of the Pritikin medical team.
