Homemade Eggnog Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 qt skim milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Swerve
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • Bring milk to a light simmer
  • Add Swerve, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg
  • In a separate bowl, add egg yolks
  • Very slowly, begin adding warm milk into egg yolks, whisking constantly
  • Add at least half the pot of milk into the eggs, bringing up the temperature slowly (tempering)
  • Now add warm egg/milk mixture slowly back into pot
  • Do not bring to a boil or you may curdle the egg
  • Allow to heat slightly to thicken
  • Cool and serve for the next week
